Last updated: 2026-04-27. This policy explains how Kompas handles personal data across the public landing site, the free desktop application, and the Kompas Pro cloud service operated by ByteBridge Co., Ltd.

1. Scope. This policy covers (a) the static landing site at kompas.app, (b) the open-source Kompas desktop application, and (c) the Kompas Pro cloud subscription. Third-party providers you connect to Kompas — for example LLM vendors or Stripe — process data under their own privacy terms.

2. Landing site. The site is static and does not host login, contact forms, or analytics scripts that identify you. Cloudflare Pages may process standard operational logs (IP address, user agent, requested path) to deliver the site, mitigate abuse, and produce aggregated traffic statistics. These logs are retained for the duration set by Cloudflare and are not used to build advertising profiles.

3. Free desktop. Your sessions, notes, decisions, memories, and graph are stored locally on your device. Kompas does not collect telemetry by default. When you call an LLM provider, transcribe audio, or use Ollama, the relevant request is sent directly from your device to that provider; Kompas does not relay or retain a copy.

4. Pro cloud. To enable cross-device sync and built-in AI, Kompas Pro stores your encrypted graph and routes AI requests through Kompas Cloud. We use this data only to operate the service; we do not sell it, share it for advertising, or use it to train models. Stripe handles payment data under its own policy; Kompas only stores the customer reference and subscription state.

5. Retention and deletion. On the free desktop, deletion is local and immediate. On Pro, you can export your graph as JSON at any time; cancellation triggers a 30-day grace period after which the hosted graph is permanently deleted. Aggregated, non-identifying logs may be retained for security and accounting purposes.

6. Your rights. You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal data we hold for your Pro account, subject to applicable law (including GDPR, CCPA, and PIPA). Submit requests through the contact channel described on the contact page with your account email; we respond within 30 days.

7. Changes. Material updates are versioned and announced before they take effect; the version applicable to a given charge is recorded in the corresponding Stripe invoice metadata.
